On some level they sure seem to be. We were taught generally that someone is ignorant when he or she does not know a thing. We were taught also that stupidity is knowing better and still not doing what we should. There is however a deeper meaning of the word – ignorance.
Let’s consider the root of the word which is ignore. You first must be aware of something before you can make the choice to accept or ignore. Now lets look at the word stupidity. The dictionary describes it as – behavior that shows a lack of good sense or judgment
So I am compelled to ask – Is it good sense or judgement to ignore someone who is bringing you information before you have even sufficiently analyzed or considered, before you choose to ignore it. That seems pretty stupid to me.
The world we live in today is littered with ignorance. As Retired Lt. General Russell Honore` said to a reporter during the rescue of citizens in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina – ” This is a Disaster. This isn’t something somebody can control. We ain’t stuck on stupid.” Right now we are stuck.
There are no physical ways to extricate ourselves from this condition. Somehow we think one more march, the next election, better monetary policy, no more wars, and on and on.
You’ve no doubt heard it all, except the real truth. Maybe you have heard the real truth and have chosen to ignore it, or didn’t realize that it was something you should pay particular attention to.
You may have heard the term universal laws and not contemplated what that meant. These are referred to in ancient writings as the Hermetic Laws. These are the laws that govern nature and the universe. Not being cognizant of these is the root of all problems we face on this plane of existence.
The one popularized is the law of attraction. That’s because we’re obsessed with money, fame and fortune and success. The others, we probably don’t know what they are. You may have heard the truism “everything is connected”. That statement is bound together by the seven Hermetic principles or laws of nature.
Of all the laws talked about, written, and declared, the most important are the Hermetic Laws. Ignoring them is what has plunged humanity into the pit we now inhabit. Restoring them is the only ladder by which we can climb out.
You may have begun this article totally unaware of universal law. Now you have the choice to ignore what you’ve read, or you can investigate and analyze for yourself the significance of knowing and practicing these universal principles in your life to great benefit.
1. The Principle of Mentalism: The All is mind; The Universe is Mental.
2. The Principle of Correspondence: As above, so below; as below, so above. As within, so without; as without, so within.
3. The Principle of Vibration: Nothing rests; Everything moves; Everything vibrates.
4. The Principle of Polarity: Everything is dual; Everything has poles; Everything has its pair of opposites; Like and unlike are the same; Opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; Extremes meet; All truths, are but half-truths; All paradoxes may be reconciled.
5. The Principle of Rhythm: Everything flows, out and in; Everything has its tides; All things rise and fall; The pendulum swing manifests in everything; The measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; Rhythm compensates.
6. The Principle of Cause & Effect: Every cause has its effect; Every effect has its cause; Everything happens according to law’ Chance is but a name for law not recognized’ There are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the law.
7. The Principle of Gender: Gender is in everything; Everything has its masculine and feminine principles; Gender manifests on all planes.
As you can see, these principles covers every aspect of creation and our existence on this plane, urging us to look deep inside ourselves to solve any problem or situation
These principles predate the bible, Christianity, or other writings we know of except “The Emerald Tablets“, authored by Thoth the Atlantean, also known as Hermes Trismegistus. Thoth is said to have existed some 36,000 years ago and has been reincarnated multiple times using various names.
Thoth is credited with bringing his special knowledge to Chem (Egypt) and establishing the Mystery Schools to train priests. The rightful conclusion was that Thoth received his vast knowledge from the Gods and had a mission to disseminate this knowledge to worthy individuals in the land of Chem, and to the rest of the planet.
Fast forward to today and realize that we all have a primary mission. That mission is to inculcate ourselves with the seven Hermetic principles into our way of living, which would elevate each one of us to the highest frequency and dimension, which is moving from physical to spiritual in nature.
One very important thing to remember is that as you emerge from the darkness, your eyes will have to adjust to the light. That time period and effort is different for each individual, but absolutely necessary.
The egoic construct of our mind is the biggest obstacle we will ever face. It is the above and below, conscious and unconscious ego, immersed into our being that we have to fight and overcome everyday. Having this awareness is critical to the process of deeper knowledge of self.
With all the technology and progress made by man in the last 2000 years, we are more ignorant, farther from knowing our true selves, and how we have created a world for ourselves that we characterize as out of control.
What is out of control is our egoic thinking that manifest itself all the negatives that we decry, war, poverty, world hunger, disease, lack of a moral compass, racism, and so on.
The sad thing is we are looking for solutions outside of ourselves, rather than giving into and seeing the obvious, which is, when we look in the mirror we only see one person, and that person is ourself . That is a hard pill to swallow but the right pill. All the ancients tell us this. It’s time to start listening.
